Using Nearby without signing in

Start or join a meetup without creating an account, and understand what optional Google sign-in adds.

Quick answer

Nearby works without sign-up. Your app installation has its own profile, while browser guests enter a display name. Google sign-in is optional and is mainly useful for keeping friends when changing phones.
