Nearby

Delete Your Data

App: Nearby · Developer: Vxtory. Nearby does not require an account; optional Google sign-in can connect your identity across devices. You can erase everything Nearby holds about you from the app or by request on this page.

01

Delete From the App

Open Nearby, go to Settings, and tap Delete My Data. Confirm, and the deletion is carried out immediately on our servers. The app then restarts as a fresh install with a new identity. Nothing from before can be linked to it.

02

Request Deletion Without the App

If you no longer have the app installed, send a request using either channel below with the subject line Delete my Nearby data. If you used Google sign-in, include that email address. Otherwise include your Nearby name and, if available, a friend link or meetup invitation that can help us locate your record.

No account, login, or app install is required to submit a request on this page.

03

What Is Deleted

A deletion permanently removes:

  • Your profile: display name and avatar
  • Your friendships, private groups, statuses, blocks, and pending invitations
  • Your push notification token
  • Every chat message you sent, in every meetup
  • Your membership in every meetup, past and present. A meetup you leave with one member remaining is ended, as it would be if you left normally.

Live locations are never stored. They exist only in memory while a meetup is running and are gone the moment you leave or disconnect.

04

What May Be Retained

Server request logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention, then deleted. They contain no location history and are not used to identify or contact you. Messages other members sent in a meetup you were part of remain theirs and are not affected.

05

How Long It Takes

Processing Time

In-app deletion is immediate. A request sent by email or web form is completed within 30 days of being verified.
