How to set your status

Tell Nearby friends whether you are free, busy, or at a particular place for a limited time.

Quick answer

Open Friends, tap Set a status, choose a quick option or write your own, select how long it should remain visible, and save it.

Walkthrough

Follow these steps

  1. 01

    Open Friends

    Tap the people button from the map.

  2. 02

    Tap Set a status

    Choose a suggested status or enter your own short update.

  3. 03

    Choose the duration

    Set it to show for 1, 4, 8, or 24 hours.

  4. 04

    Save the status

    Friends see the update under your name until it clears automatically.
