How Nearby works
Follow the complete Nearby flow: choose a destination, invite people, and watch everyone come together on one temporary live map.
Quick answer
One person starts a meetup at a map pin and shares the invitation. Everyone joins the same live map, where they can see the destination, shared locations, ETAs, and group chat until the meetup ends.

Follow these steps
- 01
Choose where to meet
Search for a place or move the map to the exact entrance, landmark, or pickup point your group should reach.
- 02
Start the meetup
Tap Plan a meetup, confirm the destination, and become the host of that temporary event.
- 03
Invite your people
Send the meetup link, show the QR code, share the six-digit code, or invite existing friends and private groups.
- 04
Meet on one live map
Members who choose to share location appear on the map with useful arrival information. Everyone can use the same meetup chat.
- 05
Leave when you are together
Location sharing stops when someone leaves or the meetup ends. Nearby does not keep live positions as location history.
